Deriving its name, which means under the fig tree, from the sixty year old fig tree in its garden, İnciraltı is a typical İstanbul “meyhane,” that invites patrons to a long and cosy night of delicious foods and drinks. A typical night normally begins with the cold dishes and slowly moves on to warm appetizers and warm dishes, all accompanied by wine or the traditional “Rakı.” Among the offerings of İnciralti’s rich menu are delicacies such as wrapped liver, topik (an Armenian delicacy), Papaz Yahni, a recipe that dates to the Byzantine times and the Ottoman specialty Royal dish, all prepared according to their original recipes, to be followed by a selection of meat and fish...

With its menu and ambiance, İnciralti is a loyal representative of both the “meyhane” tradition and the centuries long Istanbul cuisine...
